Orthoptics Australia (OA) is a national organisation representing members in all states of Australia, as well as members from other countries, including New Zealand, United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. OA strives to promote and advance the discipline of orthoptics in public hospitals and ophthalmology practices, and to actively seek and implement career and work benefits and opportunities for its members.

A full time position is available at my eye specialist working with two experienced, comprehensive ophthalmologists in private practise. Myeye specialist is a boutique practice located in Robina Town Centre and incorporates Gold Coast Eye Hospital, a fully accredited and licensed day hospital in the same tenancy. Our consulting area includes 5 consulting rooms, a fully equipped orthoptic room and a large tech area for patient assessment. Our medical records are electronic and incorporate Heidelberg OCT and anterion. Our work flow is efficient and patient oriented and patient movement within the clinic is controlled by our software. Your role as an orthoptist would include patient assessment, initial assessment of new patients, interaction with our tech support team including teaching, management of operating lists and intraocular lens choice with the ophthalmologist, liasing with nursing staff from GCEH and ensuring the patient journey in clinic and hospital is optimal. You would be directly in contact with our ophthalmologists with a view to expanding your clinical knowledge and examination findings. We are situated on the Gold Coast and look forward to your application.
